I am a permanent researcher at the International Center for Numerical methods in Engineering (CIMNE) and the Departament de Resistència de Materials i Estructures a l'Enginyeria (RMEE), at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC). My research interests include numerical analysis, applied mathematics and computational mechanics. I am particularly interested on

    • Stabilized and multiscale finite element methods
    • Pressure segregation schemes for the Navier-Stokes equations
    • Magnetohydrodynamics and fusion reactor simulations
    • Fluid-structure interaction
    • Atomistic-to-Continuum coupling

I moved to Barcelona after a two years stay at the Applied Mathematics and Applications Department at the Sandia National Labs in Albuquerque (New Mexico), and a six-month stay at the Politecnico di Milano in Italy. I have recently been awarded with a STARTING GRANT from the European Research Council for advancing in the field of computational methods for fusion reactor processes.
